Wine tasting:
Saint-Christol is well known for the quality of its wine. You will have the opportunity to discover our neighbour’s wine le Domaine Guinand. The owners of this holiday house are also winemakers in the appellation Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence.
They will be pleased to welcome you at the Château Petit Sonnailler located near Salon-de-Provence for a personalised wine tasting. An hour drive away from Saint-Christol, you may also want to visit les Alpilles, Arles, Aix-en-Provence and Avignon. We can help you organise your visits.
Village festival Last week of July: Bulls, Camarguais horses and abrivados. Several village festivals take place during the summer at surrounding villages.
Sport activities: Golf at La Grande-Motte. Canoe on le Vidourle river, departure from Sommières. Green way from Sommières for roller-skate, cycling and jogging (20 kilometres). Park Adventure: Stand Up Paddle, rope park, large zip-line in Sommières. Horse-ridding in the village. Water sport on the Ponant pond.
Sightseeing: La Camargue: bulls and horses breeding, horse ridding, bird sanctuary. The Château de Sommières and its dungeon and the château de Villevieille. Saint-Guillem le désert, underground caves: Les Grottes des Demoiselles & les Grottes de Clamouse. Anduze: its renown potteries and the great bamboo plantation « La bambouseraie. Aigues-Mortes: fortified city at the edge of the ponds and Les salins du Midi (production of salts).

Nîmes: the garden « Les jardins de la Fontaine » , its arena and the roman temple; Bulls and horses festival: la maison carrée Spectacle during the Feria from16th to 21st May and mid-September.
Montpellier and its beautiful architecture, its gardens, and museums… International Festival of Contemporary Danse in June and July.
Avignon: Palais des Papes and the outstanding gardens of the Abbaye Saint-André overlooking the Rhône river and the town. Festival d’Avignon from 6th to 24th July, more than 1000 theatre shows.
Sète in between the sea and the Etang de Thau: a unique island with its canals and lively quays. International Electronic Music Festival on the beach from 30th June to 7th July. Old sailing ships from 27th March to 2nd April 2018.
Seaside:
La Grande Motte: great beaches and beautiful golf and Casino. Evenings: Music events with DJs well known on several places on the beach. Le Grau du Roi: fishing harbour with amusement ride attractions in the evening for adults and children.
